Webinar 45- Improving Graduation Rates of Division I Basketball and Football Players – Whose Responsibility and What Strategies Work? Thursday – February 20, 2025 2:00-3:30pmET

A stellar line-up of experts working with college athletes share research supported strategies for improving the current low graduation rates of Division I basketball and football players. This research demonstrates that there are characteristics among college athletes that institutions continue to fail to acknowledge. Also, the research demonstrates that there are institutional best practices that can be utilized to better support athletes, including athletes of color, athletes from low-income backgrounds, and neurodivergent athletes. The focus of the session is identifying the institutional barriers that impede academic success for college athletes as well as those best practices supported by research. How should these realities be successfully addressed by academic support personnel, coaches, and administrators?
